Türkiye closed 2025 with record exports: $273.4 billion!
Despite global economic challenges, rising protectionism, and geopolitical tensions, Turkey capped 2025 with its highest-ever annual export figure in republican history.
According to the Ministry of Trade, merchandise exports in 2025 increased by 4.5% year-on-year to $273.4 billion (exactly $273 billion 434 million).
December marked a historic milestone with the highest monthly export ever: $26.411 billion, surpassing the $26 billion threshold for the first time and showing a 12.8% rise compared to the previous year.
Combined goods and services exports reached $396.5 billion, setting a new national record. President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan announced the figures at the Istanbul Congress Center event, highlighting the 2026 merchandise export target of $282 billion. Trade Minister Ömer Bolat emphasized: "Overcoming the 270 billion dollar barrier despite tough global conditions demonstrates the strength of our exporters."
The automotive sector led with $41.5 billion, while defense and aerospace exports surged 48.72% to over $10 billion.
This achievement reflects Turkey's robust production capacity, strategic market expansion, and focus on high-value-added products. Efforts continue toward the 2026 combined export goal of $410 billion.
