The Turkish Ministry of Trade has released 2025 export statistics by province of activity. According to the data, the total exports of İzmir, Manisa, Denizli, Balıkesir, Aydın, Muğla, Kütahya, Afyonkarahisar and Uşak increased from $43.4 billion in 2024 to $43.7 billion in 2025.
December Exports of the Aegean Region Declined
The Aegean Region’s exports amounted to $3.872 billion in December 2024, while exports in December 2025 declined by 2.7% to $3.768 billion.
Six Provinces Exceeded the $1 Billion Export Threshold
In 2025, İzmir, Manisa, Denizli, Balıkesir, Aydın and Muğla surpassed the $1 billion export threshold in the Aegean Region.

İzmir Ranked Third Nationwide in Exports
According to a written statement from the Aegean Exporters’ Associations, İzmir ranked third among all Turkish provinces with $23.614 billion in exports in 2025. However, this figure was 1% lower than its $23.833 billion export performance in 2024.
The leading sectors contributing to İzmir’s exports were:

Afyonkarahisar Became the Export Growth Champion
Known as Türkiye’s marble capital, Afyonkarahisar increased its exports from $710 million in 2024 to $834 million in 2025, achieving a 17.4% growth rate and becoming the export growth champion of the Aegean Region.
The province aims to exceed $1 billion in exports in 2026.

Manisa Continued to Follow İzmir
Manisa remained the second-largest exporting province in the Aegean Region, generating $7.4 billion in exports in 2025. Despite maintaining its ranking, exports declined by 3.5% year-on-year.
The decline was mainly driven by the electrical and electronics sector:

This sector alone caused a $510 million decrease in Manisa’s exports.
Denizli Increased Its Exports
Denizli recorded a 6.4% increase, raising its exports from $4.2 billion to $4.5 billion in 2025.
The electrical and electronics sector stood out, exceeding $1 billion for the first time with $1.019 billion, narrowing the gap with the apparel sector.

Balıkesir Surpassed $2.5 Billion
Balıkesir increased its exports by 5%, reaching $2.579 billion in 2025 and surpassing the $2.5 billion mark. The province aims to reach $3 billion in exports in the coming years.
Aydın Approached the $2 Billion Level
Aydın increased its exports by 4%, rising from $1.848 billion to $1.925 billion in 2025. The province is targeting over $2 billion in exports in 2026.
Muğla Ranked Second in Export Growth
Muğla, Türkiye’s leading province in the seafood sector, increased its exports by 10% to $1.403 billion in 2025.

Outlook for Kütahya and Uşak

Kütahya recorded $956 million in exports in 2025, postponing its $1 billion target to 2026.

Uşak increased exports by 6.6% to $471 million, while achieving a strong 28% growth in December alone.
