Digital Transformation in Turkey–Iraq Trade
A major milestone has been achieved within the scope of the Development Road Project, which aims to increase bilateral trade volume between Turkey and Iraq to over $20 billion.
Following the signed protocol, the Digital Data Sharing System has officially been activated between the customs authorities of both countries.
Through this system, customs documentation, cargo details, and transport records are transmitted digitally before trucks arrive at the border.
40% Reduction in Waiting Times at Habur
One of the most significant impacts of this integration is observed at the Habur Border Gate.
With the new digital system:

✔ Pre-clearance mechanisms are applied
✔ Digital risk analysis is implemented
✔ Border processes become predictable

As a result, waiting times are expected to decrease by nearly 40%.
